Structural Formula

Product Description
Polyethyleneglycols (PEGs) are widely used for material modifications to reduce unspecific binding of the surface. The characteristics are usually applied to Biosensor such as SPR and QCM. Because Carboxy-EG6-hexadecanethiol has 6 ethylene glycol units, 16 atoms and SH group at the end, it’s expected to be a highly oriented and stable SAM on a gold surface. This product contains carboxyl group with C16-PEG. After formation of SAM, the carboxyl group can be activated with condensing agent such as WSC (catalog code: W001) to immobilize amino functional compound or proteins. In order to reduce unspecific binding more effectively, we recommend mixing with hydroxyl terminal SAM reagent. References for Aminoalkanetihiol
